BNAP Foundation Celebrates 10 Years with Two Exhibitions

BNAP Foundation will celebrate its 10-year anniversary with two exhibitions at Everard Read Circa Gallery: a retrospective titled “Mind Your Posture” marking the foundation's first decade, and a solo exhibition titled "What No Eye Has Seen”  by Khakhalethu Gxiya, winner of the 2026 Blessing Ngobeni Art Prize.

The foundation grew out of the success of the Blessing Ngobeni Art Prize, which artists Blessing Ngobeni, Teresa Firmino Kutala and Olwethu de Vos started in response to the impact a residency award had on Blessing's own career. Since then, BNAP Foundation has worked to build pathways for emerging artists in Southern Africa through mentoring, residencies, workshops, exhibitions and connections within the art world. The Prize has received more than 2,000 applications, which shows the trust artists place in it.

The retrospective looks back over ten years of that work and the artists it has supported. It sits alongside the first solo exhibition by Gxiya, whose 2026 win makes him the latest artist to come through the Prize. Showing the two together reflects the foundation's purpose: celebrating how far it has come while continuing to give emerging artists a platform.

The exhibitions will open with a cocktail themed preview on 12 November. Preview tickets are on sale, giving guests early access to both shows at Everard Read Johannesburg. Details on tickets will be shared on BNAP Foundation's website and social media channels.
