Hosted by DALRO, Sea-Crits in the Water marked the first solo exhibition by Tshepo Bopape and the conclusion of his residency with the BNAP Foundation. Held on 3 April at DALRO’s Sandton offices, the exhibition welcomed a room full of art practitioners, thinkers, and enthusiasts who came to engage with Tshepo’s richly layered body of work.
Through Sea-Crits in the Water, Tshepo invited viewers into a space where memory, spirit, and environment converge. His work asked us to listen closely—to water, to our histories, and to the speculative futures carried through Black and ecological consciousness.
BNAP Foundation congratulates Tshepo on completing his residency and thanks him for the spiritual journey his work has taken us on. We are proud to have supported his practice over the past months and grateful to DALRO for generously hosting and championing this important moment in his career.
