During the prestigious Investec Cape Town Art Fair, BNAP Foundation and WORLDART Gallery proudly presented Ancient the Modern, a compelling group exhibition that interrogated the intersection of tradition and contemporary artistic practice. Curated by BNAP’s Head Curator, Palesa Suthane, and WORLDART’s Charl Bezuidenhout, the exhibition reflected on the re-adoption of non-technological community-building and the influence of conservative ideologies in shaping artistic expression today.
This walkabout was a momentous occasion for BNAP Foundation, marking its first-ever participation in the fair’s public programme—a milestone that not only solidifies our presence within this globally recognized art platform but also paves the way for future opportunities. We were thrilled by the overwhelming turnout and the engaging discussions sparked by the exhibition’s themes, reinforcing the importance of critical dialogue in contemporary art.
